Adele's record-breaking single may have just come out a little over a week ago, but that didn't stop British rockers The Maccabees from covering the song on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge"Hello" broke records across the world, rocketing to the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming the first single to ever sell at least 1 million downloads in a week. So the song must have seemed like an obvious choice for The Maccabees when the band was asked to cover a song for the Radio 1 program, which specializes in new and fun covers of current pop hits.

The Maccabees' take on the song is much more upbeat and rock centric than Adele's ballad style. They sped the tune up and gave it a bouncy indie rock rhythm more in line with the band's style. The song is basically unrecognizable for those used to Adele's booming voice, but there's a catchy and playful quality to the band's cover that kind of gets stuck in your head. It's all the more impressive when the band reveals they threw the cover together in a matter of a couple hours before the broadcast. Listen to the song below.

Marks To Prove It is The Maccabees' fourth studio album, which was released back in July of this year, garnering them the No. 1 position on the UK albums chart. The group hasn't caught on in the US as much as it has in the band's homelands, but the British indie rock group has been gaining new fans along the way in the promotion of this latest album, Perhaps this cover will expose them to more fans, too!

The Vaccine's Justin Young certainly thinks The Maccabees deserve more attention than they get, as he recently said the band was snubbed from a position as one of this year's Mercury Prize nominees.
