Britney Spears' ninth studio album is officially in the works. In the midst of her extended Las Vegas residency, on Tuesday night (Nov. 3), the "Pretty Girls" singer teased the release of "B9" with an in-studio snapshot with two of her songwriting collaborators.

Spears shared an image of herself on a plush beige couch on her Twitter and Instagram. And, while the blurry, candid shot didn't seem like a huge revelation, the caption revealed something far more exciting: a new record is on the way.

Popcrush identified the two people in the photo as Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels. Tranter is the lead singer of band Semi Precious Weapons and has recently penned a string of hit songs for the likes of Fall Out Boy ("Centuries"), Fifth Harmony ("Like Mariah"), Gwen Stefani ("Used to Love You"), Justin Bieber ("Sorry") and Selena Gomez ("Me and the Rhythm," "Hands to Myself").

Michaels has also worked with Tranter on some of the previously mentioned songs as well as cuts for Demi Lovato, Rita Ora and Zedd.

The social media picture is the first update Spears has given about her ninth studio album in quite some time. Further details surrounding the album have not been confirmed, though fans speculate the LP could drop in 2016.

Spears' last album Britney Jean was released in 2013. That record featured the singles "Work B*tch" and the Sia-penned "Perfume."
