Grimes, born Claire Boucher, has at last released her long-awaited album Art Angels. After nearly three years of back and forth about the possibility of a new album that included scrapped projects and near misses, Grimes has completed a project she feels confident enough to present to the world. The album only has two features in total coming from Janelle Monáe and Aristophanes.

The Canadian singer, songwriter, producer and video director's fourth album in five years, Grimes released two in 2010, Geidi Primes and Halfaxa, before taking a year off and then putting out her breakthrough record in 2012 Visions. Art Angels now finds a new pressure on Boucher to deliver.

Art Angels has a bit of everything on it. Her airy voice and quality songwriting are a constant throughout the LP, but the production is varied with different instrumentals taking the lead role on different tracks and tunes achieving differing levels of indie-pop gold.

The rollout for Art Angels has been quite quick. Instead of trying to tease out the LP with a long promo process with loads of singles and public appearances, she only did a limited amount of interviews and released two singles "Flesh without Blood" and "Scream." She also unveiled "Life in the Vivid Dream" as part of a double music video with "Flesh without Blood."
