Bravo's Real Housewives franchise is adding a new edition to the family with the introduction of The Real Housewives of Potomac, premiering in January 2016.

The reality TV franchise that has kept fans entertained with The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Orange County, New York and New Jersey will now add Maryland to list, introducing six new women from Potomac, according to Rolling Out. The site reports that after rumors and speculation, Bravo has decided to move forward with the project, which is described as "Maryland's Best Kept Secret." It's set to air on Sunday January 17, at 9 p.m.

The show will center around the lives of "wealthy African-American families who have broken racial barriers and now reside in the sophisticated community," according to the site. Those wealthy women include, Gizelle Bryant, described as a mother and socialite; tv personality and model, Katie Rost, another socialite Charisse Jackson-Jordan, publicist Robyn Dixon, restaurant owner Ashley Darby, and Karen Huger.

According to the Baltimore Sun, a couple of these women have local ties to the Maryland area, as Dixon is a Baltimore native who is th ex-wife of "Terps basketball star Juan Dixon," and Darby is a graduate of the University of Maryland. Bryant is reportedly the ex-wife of Rev. Jamal Bryant, the pastor of a mega church, and the Baltimore Sun reported that the former couple were married for seven years.

Huger, who Bravo describes as the grand dame of Potomac, is known for throwing over-the-top parties at her home where she lives with her husband of 19 years, Raymond, "president and CEO of a highly successful information technology company."

The Potomac housewives are not the only new women debuting on the network next year. Baltimore Sun also reported the Dallas housewives will find a new home with Bravo, premiering later next year.

The official announcement came only days after the season 8 premiere of one of the franchise's top rated shows, RHOA, which premiered on Sunday Nov. 8. Bravo shared this photo of the women on Instagram.

Like the Atlanta housewives, executive producer Andy Cohen expects viewers to enjoy the two new editions just the same. "The Real Housewives of Potomac is the show you never saw coming, and it's going to take everyone by surprise!" Cohen stated in anticipation for the show, according to the Baltimore Sun. "As for The Real Housewives of Dallas, it's a natural extension of the franchise with a Southern twist that 'ya'll' will enjoy."
