Norwegian tropical house producer Matoma has unveiled four new songs as part of an album concept he will be rolling out. Titled Hakuna Matoma, the album is a constantly updating playlist hosted on streaming services such as Spotify and SoundCloud where the "Feeling Right" DJ will post the new music he has finished when it is done.

The playlist currently has eight songs in it, including his breakout remix of Biggie "Old Thing Back," remixes for Jason DeRulo's "Try Me" and Astrid S "2 AM." His recently released collaboration with Wale and Popcaan "Feeling Right (Everything is Nice)" makes the cut with four other new ones including a track alongside logical partners, Nico & Vinz, whose recent EP has strong tropical influences.

Speaking to Billboard about the new concept, Matoma spoke about how this was a logical step for him as someone who has grown up with the internet. "When I make a song, I want it to get released as soon as possible so they can listen to it and enjoy it," he says. "I got so inspired by people sending me messages all the time like 'oh, you need to get your music on the streaming services.' I've been working really hard to do that, and this is my way to show them that I care about my fans and the people that listen to my music."

The new step won't win any major awards for Matoma or break sales records, but it could mean big streaming numbers for all of the songs in the playlist if they are strategically ordered together. He will update his fans on social media whenever he updates the album.

This concept does not lend itself to the traditional way an album is written with one complete idea, but it is a modern way to present music.
