In a fresh clip from upcoming documentary movie Janis Joplin: Little Girl Blue, slated to hit theaters later in the year, the "Summertime" singer's brother and sister recall and talk about a family vacation to San Francisco during the 1967 Summer of Love to visit their sister Janis.

The family gathering brought about an unprepared gig from Big Brother & the Holding Company as they jammed through a four-song set, courtesy of Moby Grape who wanted to give the Joplins a memorable visit.

"When we were getting ready to leave," Laura Joplin reminisces in the clip above, "I remember overhearing one of my parents tell the other one, 'You know, dear, I don't think we're going to have much influence anymore.'"

Janis Joplin: Little Girl Blue is Oscar-nominated director Amy Berg's latest endeavor, UltimateClassicRock notes. The documentary saw its world premiere during the Venice Film Festival with the full support of Joplin's family, making the filming process as smooth as possible with constant reminders of Joplin's unforgettable talents.

"She put women in rock on the map. She literally was the first female rock star and she did it in such a strong way and we're still reaping the benefits of that today," Berg said of the Pearl artist. "And I think her music is just as relevant today as it was in 1968, '69."

The Joplin-centered film offers extensive interviews from the "Piece of My Heart" singer's family members, friends, Big Brother & the Holding Company members and musical icons including the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, Clive Davis and Melissa Etheridge. Furthermore, the documentary features an array of fresh video and audio footage, Rolling Stone reports. Another documentary in the works about the raspy voiced rocker, called Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can, is rumored to star redhead Amy Adams.

The latest video clip is the second sneak peak posted from Little Girl Blue, due out for its theatrical debut on November 27 in New York.
