Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross were recruited by director David Fincher to score his upcoming film, Gone Girl. Reznor and Fincher previously collaborated on The Social Network, which earned Best Original Score at the 2010 Academy Awards, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which was nominated for Best Original Score at the 2011 Golden Globes.

Yesterday, a new website for the film launched, featuring a clip of a brooding track taken presumably from the score. Listen to it here (via F**k Yeah Atticus Ross).

Based on the novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn, the film tells the story of Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike) who disappears mysteriously on the day of her wedding anniversary. The male lead, the character's husband, is played by Ben Affleck.

The film is set to premiere on October 3. See the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments section!
