Shawn Mendes has been teasing his collaboration with Fifth Harmony's Camila Cabello "I Know What You Did Last Summer" for weeks now, and finally, the new song has arrived. On Tuesday night (Nov. 17), the two teen idols held a livestream event, and at the end of their fan chat, they dropped the intense pop jam.

Despite sharing a name with a well-known horror movie, there's nothing especially creepy about Mendes and Cabello's "I Know What You Did Last Summer." Though the song tells a story of infidelity and there's a sense of urgency throughout the chords and the exchanges between the two singers, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is still an inherent pop gem. It is a Shawn Mendes song, after all.

"I know what you did last summer / Just lie to me, there is no other/ I know what you did last summer / Tell me where you've been / I know what you did last summer / Look me in the eyes, my lover / I know what you did last summer / Tell me where you've been," Mendes and Cabello sing in the chorus, and their vocals blend together shockingly well, especially as they trade off emotional "I knows" in the post-chorus.

According to Billboard, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" was co-written by Mendes and Cabello backstage at Taylor Swift's 1989 World Tour over the, well, over the summer.

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" will be featured on the re-release of Mendes' debut album Handwritten, fittingly entitled Handwritten Revisited. That new LP will drop on Friday, Nov. 20.
