With such a crowded Republican field, many forgot the Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal was running for president. He has not been present during the competitive contenders' campaigns, being relegated to earlier contests with Rick Perry and Mike Huckabee, and his campaign has failed to make headlines for a number of months. Now it appears as if Jindal, whose popularity in his home state of Louisiana has plummeted, is dropping out of the race for president. On Fox News, the Governor said, "I've come to the realization this is not my time."

According to the New York Times, during his campaign, Jindal failed to raise the necessary money to be considered a serious contender, with only $261,000 on hand for October. Further, the Governor was out-flanked to the right by "outsider candidates" like Donald Trump and Ben Carson.

In an interview on Tuesday night with Fox News, Governor Jindal said, "We spent a lot of time developing detailed policy papers, and given this crazy, unpredictable election season, clearly there just wasn't a lot of interest in those policy papers."

Jindal gained national attention after declaring Republicans the "stupid party" in the wake of the 2012 elections. Jindal attempted a number of stunts to increase his visibility and spread the word about his campaign. Among these included a hidden camera the Governor placed in his yard during a family meeting with his children about his prospective presidential bid. Jindal then released this video to the media.

Hopefully the Governor will be able to go back to his state and increase his popularity to the heights he saw after his election in 2007. Regarding his future, Jindal said, "One of the things I will do is go back to work at the think tank I started a few years ago - where I will be outlining a blueprint for making this the American century."
