Hans Zimmer seems to be the go-to composer these days to score superhero films. He's already provided the music behind Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises), Iron Man, Man of Steel and the forthcoming sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. Now director Zack Snyder has asked him to score the upcoming follow-up to Man of Steel, tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Zimmer said he will begin working on the film once he completes the score or Nolan's sci-fi flick, Interstellar.

"We've already had a couple of chats, and once I finish the movie that I shall not talk about I will probably head over to where Zack is shooting his movie and just hang out a bit and see if we can come up with any ideas," Zimmer said.

Although he hasn't starting writing the music, he mentioned that he will be creating a new theme for Ben Affleck's take on the Batman franchise and wants to avoid devaluing his work on Christian Bale's version.

"That's my problem, that's my dilemma. I don't want to betray, if that's the right word, the Dark Knight movies. That was Christian, it was Christian's role," he explained. "It's not just that it was nine years of our lives, so you want to stay honest and honourable to that period. So it's really about, 'Is there something else I can find that I haven't tapped into?' Which I don't know until I sit down with Zack."

Batman vs. Superman is due out in theaters May 6, 2016. Check out theme song from Zimmer's Dark Knight Rises below.
