It is a sad day for electronic music fans that get their music on YouTube. The YouTube channel Majestic Casual, which has grown from a small, fledgling YouTube channel to a powerhouse that could help break an artist's career and be instrumental in giving them the exposure needed to cut through an increasingly crowded electronic music field, has been taken down for "copyright infringement."

A message on the channel's homepage reads, "Majestic Casual has been terminated because we've received multiple third-party claims of copyright infringement regarding material that the user posted."

It is not clear who reported the reportedly infringing material, but a Shane Morris has taken credit for some of the notices on Twitter.

Majestic Casual has not released much of a statement as to why they were taken down, but on their Facebook page, the channel apologized to its legion of nearly 681,000 fans with a Arnold Schwarzenegger "I'll Be Back" compilation.

Among the artists who have been featured on the channel include Sango, Chance The Rapper, Kasbo, Etta Bond, XXYYXX, Amtrac, Stephen and many others.

It is rumored that Majestic Casual was somewhat cavalier with their uploading practices, relying on their size to get the OK on clearance after the fact because of how much promotion being posted on their channel can bring to a song. However not every artist or label is as forgiving and this can be quite dangerous, especially if the channel has multiple strikes, which is what happened to Majestic Casual.

It will be a long way back for Majestic Casual to try and reclaim their channel in a climate that is increasingly intolerant towards copyright infringement on streaming services as the majors try to consolidate their revenue outside of record sales.
