Touring drummer for Eagles of Death Metal, and founding member of The Whigs, Julian Dorio, broke the silence about his own experience during the Paris terrorist attacks and says he can't wait to return and finish the show.

On Nov. 13, terrorists attacked and killed at least 89 fans at the sold out Bataclan Theater where Dorio, along with the other Eagles of Death Metal members (minus Josh Homme who was in Los Angeles while the band was on tour), were playing. The band was able to escape the scene alive and are starting to come out with their accounts of the night now that some time has passed to process it all.

Jesse Hughes and Homme are set to give their accounts of the tragedy in a VICE video this week, but Dorio had some things he wanted to say through a post on Instagram.

He started by saying the show was one of the best and most energetic they had experienced on the tour yet before the unimaginable happened.

"Absolute and unnecessary evil turned our world on its head," Dorio wrote in the post. "I am beyond grateful that I was able to find a way out of the venue, but I am mourning those who did not, including our mate, Nick Alexander. My thoughts are with their families."

Alexander was the EODM merchandise guy who many in the industry have been mourning in the wake of the attacks, including Dan Auerbach of The Arcs and Black Keys, a band Alexander also worked with.

Dorio also used the post to thank individual fans that went out of their way to help him and everyone at the venue, "I have a new family abroad."

"To Arthur, who ran for his life right beside me and selflessly put us in a taxi before himself, thank you," he wrote. "To Fabrice, a fan who lent me his phone later that night so I could call @emilydorio and attempt to put her at ease, thank you. To everyone who, in the face of unrelenting evil, went toe to toe using courage, compassion, and love as their weapons. You all are my heroes."
