Adele's new album 25 has officially broken records. In its first week on sale, the "Hello" singer's third studio album sold nearly 3.5 million copies, slaughtering the record previously set by NSYNC's No Strings Attached.

Billboard reported that 25 beat NSYNC's record, which sold 2.42 million during its release week in 2001. The album is also only the 20th album since '91 to gross over one million units in a week. It is already the largest selling album of 2015 and topped the 1.8 million grossed by Taylor Swift's enormously popular album 1989 with 3.48 million units moved.

Because of its massive sales numbers, 25 was an easy No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Last week's No. 1, Justin Bieber's Purpose, slipped to No. 2 with 290,000 unites moved and it was once again followed by One Direction's Made in the A.M. at No. 3.

While Adele stole the thunder with the big debut of the week, she wasn't the only artist to release a new album on Nov. 20. Jadakiss' latest effort Top 5 Dead or Alive also debuted in the top five at No. 4. Enya's new LP Dark Sky Island also fared well with a debut at No. 8 and 48,000 units tallied.

The majority of the top 10 in the Billboard 200 are familiar records. The Weeknd's chart mainstay Beauty Behind the Madness jumps up three spots to No. 5, Pentatonix bring the Christmas flavor with That's Christmas to Me and a return to the top 10 at No. 6. Chris Stapleton's big return to the charts Traveller slipped down one spot to No. 7 and Fetty Wap's self-titled album stuck around at No. 10.

And the final album in the top 10? That goes to Adele as well. Her sophomore effort 21 jumped back up to No. 9 with 46,000 units.
