The Voice's season nine semi-final contestants are going to be getting one big mentor for next week's round of performances. On Tuesday night (Dec. 1), the NBC show announced that the top nine will be mentored by none other than the legendary Dolly Parton.

Coach Blake Shelton made the announcement on the top 10 results show this week that the nine semi-final contestants will be mentored by none other than the country music legend herself.

Shelton, noticeably excited about bringing Parton in as a guest mentor for the top nine, revealed that he doesn't know Parton all that well because "no one does." Along with his glee of meeting his genre's legend, he also revealed that she will perform on the Dec. 8 results show.

Parton coincidentally has a new made-for-TV movie Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors airing on NBC later in the week.

Parton joins a big list of mentors from season nine of The Voice. During the battle rounds, Adam Levine's team were mentored by classic rock legend John Fogerty, Gwen Stefani's team got a hand from Selena Gomez, Blake Shelton tapped his buddy Brad Paisley and Pharrell Williams' team was helped by his "WTF" collaborator Missy Elliott.

The knockout rounds had the show's biggest and most modern name around to help the students out: Rihanna. And, though the live playoffs have seen a lack of mentors, having Dolly Parton around next week will seemingly help them all out.

Parton's mentor role will air on NBC's semi-finals of The Voice, which will begin on Monday, Dec. 7, at 8 p.m.
