Season one of Starz's period drama Outlander, based off of the series of books by author Diana Gabaldon, was a resounding hit for the network and the show, so we're not surprised that fans are on the edge of their seats to find out when season two's premiere date will be announced. We know that 2016 has been advertised, but even with a release of the first teaser trailer for the upcoming episodes, we have yet to learn when it will officially air. From the looks of this new trailer, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) have some big plans for the future, both involving their personal lives and the time-altering events that sent Claire back in time to 1743. Is she safe in this strange world and can the Frasers protect each other?

Season Two of Outlander begins as Claire and Jamie arrive in France, hell-bent on infiltrating the Jacobite rebellion led by Prince Charles Stuart, and stopping the battle of Culloden. With the help of his cousin Jared, a local wine merchant, Jamie and Claire are thrown into the lavish world of French society, where intrigue and parties are abundant, but political gain proves far less fruitful. Altering the course of history presents challenges that begin to weigh on the very fabric of their relationship. However, armed with the knowledge of what lies ahead, Claire and Jamie must race to prevent a doomed Highland uprising, and the extinction of Scottish life as they know it.
