Eagles of Death Metal are slated to play with U2 in Paris for a memorial concert honoring the victims of the Paris attacks this Sunday (Dec. 6).

According to Billboard, Eagles of Death Metal will perform with the Irish super band onstage for their concert at AccorHotels Arena during the final number of the performance. In an interesting twist, Bono was spotted at the same arena shortly before the brutal attacks at Parisian Le Bataclan occurred during the Eagles of Death Metal concert, where members of terrorist unit ISIS slaughtered 89 concert-goers in a vicious attack.

Further, according to the publication, Josh Homme will additionally be present at the concert although he was not performing at Le Bataclan at the time of the shootings.

Both Eagles of Death Metal and founding member of The Whigs, Julian Dorio, have publicly come out to speak on the tragedy that occurred on the fateful night of Nov. 13. Dorio took to Instagram to express some of these thoughts in a series of posts. He began by expressing that unfortunately aside from the tragedy it was one of the best shows they had ever had as a band.

“Absolute and unnecessary evil turned our world on it’s head,” Dorio wrote in his post. “I am beyond grateful that I was able to find a way out of the venue, but I am mourning those who did not, including our mate, Nick Alexander. My thoughts are with their families.”

The tragedy hit the music industry hard, as Nick Alexander was Eagles of Death Metal’s merchandise manager and had additionally worked with The Arcs and Black Keys in the past.

He further went on to thank those who helped him during the terrorist attacks. “To Arthur, who ran for his life right beside me and selflessly put us in a taxi before himself, thank you. To Fabrice, a fan who lent me his phone later that night so I could call @emilydorio and attempt to put her at ease, thank you. To everyone who, in the face of unrelenting evil, went toe to toe using compassion, and love as their weapons. You are all my heroes.”

Dorio additionally expressed that he now feels that he has “a new family abroad” in Paris.
