The highly anticipated story of The People vs O.J. Simpson, starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Courtney B. Vance, is only months away from making its TV debut and the first look trailer has been released.

Centric TV released the American Crime Story trailer of the story that covers the murder trial of O.J. Simpson, the former NFL player accused of murdering his wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and Ronald Goldman. The film is set to star Gooding in the role of Simpson, Vance as the powerful late attorney, Johnnie Cochran, and David Schwimmer as Simpson's friend and attorney Robert Kardashian.

The film is based on the book, The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson, written by Jeffrey Toobin, and will air in February 2016, according to the site. The trial, which began in 1994 and became notoriously known as "the trial of the century" ended when Simpson received a not guilty verdict in October of 1995.

According to Deadline, the story will focus on the trial from the perspective of the lawyers involved and those that were close to them like the wife of the late Kardashian, Kris Jenner, who will be portrayed in the film by actress Selma Blair. According to the site, Kardashian was more than just Simpson's lawyer as he was also described as a "confident." Kardashian died in 2003, two years before Cochran.

The story is set to shed light on the key factors that caused for reasonable doubt in the case and ultimately led to a not guilty verdict. American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, who is also an executive producer; along with many others like, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson & Brad Simpson, according to Deadline.
