Like many, Russell Simmons is offended by Donald Trump's politics and has written an open letter to the Republican candidate where he pleads with him to "stop the bullsh*t." Though the hip-hop mogul criticized the GOP frontrunner's politics, he does admit that he has been a "great friend" in recent years.

The letter begins with Simmons' recollection of a meeting that was held at a Manhattan mosque that his Foundation for Ethnic Understanding organized. At the meeting he wanted to address the Islamophobia held by Trump during recent commentary in his campaign.

"Stop the bullsh*t," Simmons wrote in his letter. "Stop fueling the fires of hate. Don't feed into the rhetoric created by small-minded people. You're smarter and certainly more loving than you let on. The Republicans in power don't like you any more than the Democrats in power, as they know you can't be controlled, because you are your own man."

He continued with, "You have been many people's champ in the past, but now you are becoming a major embarrassment. I know the cheap seats are easy to play to, but you can get them just by being the man I have known for nearly 30 years."

Simmons implored Trump with, "I'll pray that this truth will ring a bell and it will not only temper your rap, but remind you of the man you used to be."

The music industry has had varied opinions on Trump's bill to be president of the United States but Dee Snider of Twisted Sister doesn't seem to have a problem with his music backing Trump, who has been using their old school anthem of rebellion "We're Not Gonna Take It" at his campaign rallies. Snider cited that although the two don't see eye to eye in terms of their political views he appreciates that Trump called him to request use of the song.
