Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have called off their engagement and ended their relationship all due to Cox's suspicion of his cheating. Sources claim Cox felt that McDaid was becoming distant and even hired a private investigator to do a little dig and confirm her suspicions, thus leaking to the breakup.

The former Friends star met and fell in love with her now ex-fiance in a matter of months. The two reportedly only dated for six months before getting engaged back in June 2014, according to E Online. Now, after a 17-month engagement, the relationship is officially over and according to InTouch Weekly the split was partly due to some major trust issues. According to the site, Cox really did not want to end the relationship, but she did because she felt that McDaid was beginning to distance himself from her and spending a lot of time in England without her.

According to a source, Cox believed her beau was beginning to lose interest in her and he may have been cheating her. The distrust became such an issue for Cox that she even hired a private investigator to do a little digging to see if she was correct in her suspicions. Although the report neither confirmed or denied whether or not McDaid was found to have been cheating on the 51-year-old mother of one, Cox did at that time call off the relationship, but only to get back together again.

As of now, it doesn't appear that the two will be reconnecting anytime soon and could have already put their best foot forward in trying to "fix" the problems in the relationship. According to InTouch, the couple already sought counseling, but were still unable to move past the trust issues in their relationship.

The couple announced their engagement on Twitter, and continued to post several other photos together on their social media sites throughout their relationship..

While together, the couple did appear to be very much in love. McDaid reportedly asked Cox's daughter, Coco, for her permission to propose to her mother before he popped the actual question. According to E Online, the proposal took place at Jennifer Aniston's house where they all celebrated Coco's birthday. Cox shared the proposal story on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

"We went to Jen's house for dinner because it was Coco's birthday and she was godmom," explained Cox. "They made a plan to count down from three and when they got to one, he was gonna get down on his knee and say, 'Will you marry me?' and she was gonna say, 'Will you marry him?' They planned it out. They found the perfect tree that branches that led to one trunk. It was just beautiful."
