Nicki Minaj has had quite the year. Between her massively successful Pinkprint Tour and her handful of Grammy nominations, it's fair to say the "Anaconda" rapper is at the top of her game. As her triumphant year comes to an end, Nicki sat down with Billboard to discuss the most relevant topics facing the United States at the moment and her relationship with rapper Meek Mill.

Minaj addressed rumors that she and Mill had gotten engaged, which has been the subject of many rumors. "He and I are not engaged. But he said he would like to give me three rings before we get married. My birthday's coming up, and he better get the new one, because he got [the first one] for my last birthday. So let's see what happens...I don't know what's going to happen with he and I. I just know right now we are really, really enjoying each other's company."

The "Queen of Rap" also discussed the importance of President Barack Obama's recent visit to El Reno Federal Correctional Institution in El Reno, Oklahoma, and his role as a black leader in America today. In contrast, Nicki spoke of her fears and amusement over the presidential campaign of Donald Trump.

Minaj didn't stop there, however. The rapper had quite a bit to say about U.S. drug policy and its negative effects on the black community. "What it has become is not a war on drugs. It has become slavery. Or something crazier. When I see how many people are in jail, I feel like, 'Wait a minute. Our government is aware of these statistics and thinks it's OK?' The sentences are inhumane. I love the president for trying to be a voice for people who no other person has ever tried to be a voice for," she said.

Finally, speaking of Trump's presidency, Minaj found humor in it all. "I think he's hilarious. I wish they could just film him running for president. That's the ultimate reality show," she said, though she doesn't seem to find him a viable candidate.
