Prince has been playing secret shows premiering new material from his upcoming album for the past few months. Now he's planned a proper UK tour, his first arena tour there in nearly 20 years. The schedule includes stops in Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds before heading stateside for a headlining slot at New Orlean's Essence Festival on July 4.
Interestingly, back in February Prince had said that he wasn't looking to play big arenas yet. Instead, he thought he and the band should "work our way up, if people like us, to bigger venues." His ideal ticket price, $10, probably won't happen either.
In other news, Prince is set to release a 30th anniversary reissue of Purple Rain as well as the highly-anticipated Plectrum Electrum.
