Kacey Musgraves recently performed at London's Royal Variety Performance last month, laying down a beautifully stripped-down cover of one of Coldplay's biggest hits, "Yellow," for British Royalty that were in attendance, including Prince Harry.

The country singer recruited longtime music partner Misa Arriaga for the duet, which is sung mostly by the singer herself, with Arriga joining in on choruses. She converts the illustrious, originally electric single (which has always sounded nice acoustically) into a harmonious folk ballad.

"Yellow" appears on Coldplay's 2000 debut album, Parachutes, which is an interesting choice for a throwback cover by Musgraves, considering the British pop rock outfit released their seventh overall studio album (and possibly final album), A Head Full Of Dreams, just this month.

In addition to Musgraves (who was the only country artist to take the stage), the annual event featured performances by Elton John, One Direction, Kylie Minogue and Brandon Flowers. Elton John performed his hit song "Tiny Dancer," but viewers could not help but primarily notice how into the tamborine his percussionist Ray Cooper was.

Kacey Musgraves released her third studio album, Pageant Material, earlier this year via Mercury Nashville. She recently returned from a European tour in support of the new LP, now back home in time to gear up for a few performances alongside Willie Nelson in Austin, Texas for ACL Live. Early next year, the country songstress will head out on her own Kacey Musgraves Country & Western Rhinestone Revue Tour.
