Years & Years made an appearance on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge on Tuesday (Dec. 15), where they performed an unconventional mashup of Drake's "Hotline Bling" and Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" in studio. The "King" outfit cleverly combined the two tracks, the first of which being arguably the most viral hit to storm the airwaves within the past year, and the second appearing on Perry's 2013 album Prism.

The Years & Years take on "Hotline Bling" is one of the most interesting covers of the Drake hit, with artists like Justin Beiber also previously doing it justice. It's been mixed, mashed-up (with Blink-182 we might add), mimicked, mocked and everything in between, but we've never seen it electronically combined with a pop artist's song before.

The trio then performed their own song "Eyes Shut," which appears on their breakthrough 2015 debut album Communion, an album that has already topped the UK charts on numerous occasions since its release in July.

Years & Years recently announced a slew of 2016 tour dates, which will begin with a few UK arena shows March 28 at Inverness Ironworks before heading to a variety of other cities. The final arena date will take place April 8 at London'sWembley Arena before they head to the U.S. for an extensive tour as support forEllie Goulding.

The band's 13-track debut album, which was released via Polydor Ltd., is currently available via iTunes. It includes tracks "Desire," "Take Shelter" and the unforgettable "King," which was released as its first single.
