Pearl Jam will reportedly headline Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival for the first time in eight years.

In a Twitter Q&A with bassist Jeff Ament and band manager Kelly Curtis last week, fans learned the band is set to embark on a new U.S. tour in 2016, and through some digging, Consequence of Sound is reporting one of those dates will be in Manchester, Tennessee where the festival runs from June 9 to 12.

Two unnamed industry sources "with knowledge of the band's plans," are passing along the information, while Bonnaroo is unable to either confirm or deny the report when reached for comment.

A Bonnaroo set from the band would probably be pretty outrageous as the band has a history of extending their shows well past the two-hour mark when they can get away with it. Music festivals such as Bonnaroo are always breeding grounds for artist collaborations with so many bands gathered in the middle of nowhere for the extended weekend.

Watch the band perform the Vitalogy single "Better Man" at their last Bonnaroo appearance in 2008.

The timing makes a lot of sense when you consider 2016 will be the 25th anniversary of Pearl Jam's seminal album Ten. During the Twitter Q&A, Curtis could not give any details as to what the band's plans are for the anniversary, but confirmed there's going to be something special. Consequence Of Sound notes that the band celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the album with a three-day concert.

Curtis also said the band is constantly in and out of the studio, adding that as of now nothing is recorded. Lighting Bolt is the latest album to come from the band from back in 2013.
