Hillary Clinton is known for being supported many in the music industry, including Katy Perry, but now the Democratic candidate is aspiring to emulate Beyonce with her campaign. When addressing a crowd in Iowa City on Wednesday (Dec. 16), the presidential hopeful said that her goal as possible future president is to be as talented at leading the country as the "7/11" singer is onstage.

A supporter asked the former Secretary of State if she would prefer to be the president or Beyonce, and Clinton quickly quipped back, "Now, if I really had a choice, I'd rather be president because I can't sing. Nobody would pay to see me sing or dance. Even when I was a way lot younger, it just wasn't in the cards for me."

The Democratic hopeful further said, "You see her on TV, it's impressive. You see her in person, you're just stunned. Thinking like, how does she do that? Really. I mean, she sings, she's up, she's down. It's just amazing. So it's not just in my astrological reading, I think." Clinton then pushed the conversation back to it's intended goal, ending with, "So I want to be as good a president as Beyonce is a performer."

One of Clinton's staunch supporters in the music industry is Katy Perry, who performed "America the Beautiful," and her own hits "Firework," "Roar," and "Wide Awake," at a campaign rally for Clinton in Iowa. Perry's performance came shortly ahead of the Democratic Party dinner in late October.

The pop star also urged people to vote shortly after her performance, citing that this election was going to be one of the most important in over a decade. After Perry performed, Clinton joined her onstage and referenced one of Perry's hits, saying, "Sometimes, it's important: You just have to roar about what you need to fight for."
