Snapchat is one social media outlet that is blowing up -- if it hasn't already. With an estimated 100 million users added to it each month, Snapchat gives fans the ability to send pics and videos of their favorite moments to friends and family, while at the same time, fans can also create "stories," which document pics and videos for everyone to see within the past 24 hours. One feature that is vastly underutilized is their Discovery Page, in which big media outlets can share the most up-to-date news in a matter of seconds. Just recently, Snapchat added "EDM" to their Discovery page, highlighting the best of 2015.

The Discovery page is one way Snapchat has monetized their app, which to most users, is free. Media outlets like ESPN, Comedy Central, The Food Network, iHeart Radio, Cosmopolitan, IGN, VICE, CNN, BuzzFeed, People, National Geographic and more, pay Snapchat to have their Discovery page seen by millions and millions of fans. From pages like ESPN, users can catch up on the latest in sports -- whether it be hightlights from the most recent games or breaking news articles that users can read -- the Discovery pages have revolutionized real-time stories.

Whereas Twitter does have up to the second news, most Tweets are 140 characters or less and make you click on a link to read the whole news in regards to whatever the Tweet was about. Twitter has also implemented auto-play videos into a users timeline, but the videos are only so long and can only relay so much information.

Recently, Snapchat added an "EDM" Discovery page, where users can check out what happened in the EDM world in 2015. Here are some of the headlines from the page:

1) The Year of Jack Ü: How Skrillex and Diplo Made Dance Music Go Pop. - Here, you can see some clips of Jack Ü performing, as well as "swiping-up" to read the article about the headline.

2) Martin Garrix dropped by and wished everyone a Happy Holiday in his 10 second clip.

3) Backstage Pass with Kaskade - In this clip, users can watch some behind the scenes footage of what goes on behind the madness when he's performing. Again, by "swiping-up," you can read about Kaskade and his 2015 in music.

4) Spotify's Year In Music, where they named Calvin Harris as the top EDM Artist of 2015. You can read more about DJ Mag and Billboard's top EDM Artist(s) in a recent Music Times article.

5) Tracks You May Have Missed - Snapchat named Zhu's, "As Crazy As It Is," as the No. 1 track, and if you scroll-up, you can read more about the track and Snapchat's rationale behind choosing this one. No 2. went to DJ Snake's track with Bipolar Sunshine, "Middle." Again, swipe up and read more about the track and even watch the music video through Snapchat! No. 3 went to Blonde featuring Alex Newell's track, "All Cried Out." Like the previous two, swipe up and watch the music video right from Snapchat.

6) Exclusive Performance - in this section, you'll hear a clip of The Chainsmoker's hit track, "Roses," featuring Rozes, and if you scroll up, it embeds the official YouTube video for the song right into Snapchat, so fans can watch it without having to exit the app and open a new one.

7) Tropical House was Spotify's Genre of the Year (based on Spotify's internal findings).

8) Fast Fact about The Chainsmokers - there are some pretty cool facts about the duo, so this one comes highly recommended to read over.

9) Backstage Pass with Flume - similar to No. 3 on the list with Kaskade, you can scroll-up to see Flume at his finest from a backstage view!

10) "Sugar" by Robin Schulz was the Viral Track of the Year (based on Spotify's internal findings).

11) Like No. 2 on the list, Zedd stopped by and recored a video of himself wishing everything Happy Holidays. Short and sweet.

12) 60 Seconds with Big Gigantic: The Duo Returns Home For a Sold-Out Show At Red Rocks. This is a pretty cool video because not only are Big G phenomenal artists, you get a backstage look at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which might be the incredible venue on the planet!

13) Burned Out On Mainstream EDM?: Our Guide To Next Year's Best Underground Dance Music Festivals. Certainly a unique category to throw in here, as after reading this article, you'll be introduced to some Festivals you never knew existed. Nice promotional strategy here.

14) Thee Artists To Watch In 2016 - users will have to read this one to find out which three artists made the list!

Of course, if you don't have a smartphone, using the Snapchat app may be difficult, but chances are good someone around you has one, and is well worth checking out. Stay tuned because the "EDM" Discovery page is only going to last so long before the "Hip-Hop" page takes over. Think you can find all of this info in consecutive posts on Twitter?
