2015 was one hell of a year for breakups, divorces, and cheating scandals. Some of Hollywoods leading couples called it quits this year. While more than 50 A-list couples ended a love affair with their significant other, this list highlights 17 of the biggest and most shocking relationship downfalls in the entertainment world.
The idea of a marriage or relationship lasting in Hollywood has become a hard thing to conceptualize. Despite having millions of fans rooting for them in their corner, nothing last forever. Hello, was anyone else floored when they heard the news about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton, or Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt?

If there's one couple Hollywood thought would last, it was Ben and Jen. In June, the couple announced they were planning to divorce, just one day after celebrating 10 years of marriage. A cheating scandal with the family's nanny played a major role in the demise of their relationship. The two remain living under the same roof for their children, but have not given any hints to reconciliation. Together they share three children: 10-year-old Violet, six-year-old Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, and three-year-old Samuel Garner.
Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick
Fans of the hit series Keeping Up With the Kardashians are familiar with the reality stars' rocky relationship. The show documented their arguments, drunk nights, disappearing acts and more. After nine years of dating, Kardashian and Disick called it quits in July when Disick was spotted with an ex-girlfriend in France. Together the two share three children: six-year-old Mason Dash, three-year-old Penelope Scotland, and one-year-old Reign Aston.
Emma Roberts & Evan Peters
The young couple began dating in 2012 after working together in the film Adult World. Love on set didn't stop there, the two have also worked together on the popular FX series, American Horror Story. Roberts and Peters got engaged over the holiday season in 2014. In June, they ended their engagement. According to an Us Weekly report, Roberts and Peters were spotted in LA on a sushi date two months after calling off their engagement. Does this mean the relationship isn't officially over?
Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale
After 13 years of marriage, No Doubt's front-woman and Bush's lead singer revealed they were divorcing in August. A nanny cheating scandal plagued this rocker couple. Stefani and Rossdale share joint custody of their three sons: nine-year-old Kingston, seven-year-old Zuma Nesta Rock, and one-year-old Apollo Bowie Flynn.
Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green
The couple has had heart-emoji eyes for each other for over a decade and have been married for five years. In August, it was reported the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles star and Green were separating. Together they share two kids together: two-year-old Noah and 18-month-old Bodhi.
Kaley Cuoco & Ryan Sweeting
After three months of dating, The Big Bang Theory star and the famous tennis player got engaged in September 2013. Cuoco and Sweeting exchanged vows on New Year's Eve that same year. Just 21 months into their marriage, it was revealed in September the two mutually decided to get a divorce.
Amy Poehler & Nick Kroll
It looks like there's just some things laughter can't cure. A budding romance between the Parks and Recreation star and Kroll Show flourished, until the relationship reached its demise after two years of dating. The funny couple called it quits in September, citing busy work schedules as the reason.
Patrick Dempsey & Jillian Fink
In late January, the Grey's Anatomy star and his makeup artist wife announced they were ending their 15-year marriage. The shocking news came months before his beloved character, Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd, was killed off of the popular Shonda Rhimes medical drama. The two share three children together: 13-year-old Tallula Fyfe and eight-year-old twin boys Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick.
Elizabeth Olsen & Boyd Holbrook
After meeting on set of the 2012 film, Very Good Girls, Elizabeth and Boyd began dating for nearly three years. They got engaged in March 2014, just weeks after French banker Olivier Sarkozy popped the big question to her older sister Mary-Kate. The two ultimately called it quits in January.

In September, the Mad Men star and Westfeldt announced they were separating after 18 years of marriage. ET Online reported rumors about the couple rekindling their relationship after they were spotted arm-in-arm in New York City, just two months after splitting.

The legendary country singer and her husband announced their plans to divorce in August, after 23 years of marriage together.
Britney Spears & Charlie Ebersol
Rumors about the iconic pop star and the TV producer being romantically linked began circulating in November 2014. The relationship ended in June.
Melanie Griffith & Antonio Banderas
In July, the celebrity couple finalized their divorce after 18 years of marriage. The A-list duo share a daughter together: 18-year-old Stella. Banderas married Griffith in a quiet ceremony in 1996, just one month after divorcing his first wife.

The Australian singer and professional model's on-again-off-again relationship has finally come to an end. The couple announced their split in May.
