Faith Evans, like many in the hip-hop community, wants her late husband’s death to be looked at again. The “Soon As I Get Home” singer recently shared her thoughts on the Notorious B.I.G.'s murder case being reopened.

During an interview with HuffPost Live, Evans expressed that she would like for there to be more attention placed on the unsolved case. She is hopeful that the Brooklyn rapper’s murder file will be reopened.

“All we can do is hope that that happens.” She continued, “we’re just happy that we’re here to preserve his legacy and [make sure] his kids are happy and they’re living great lives.”

Biggie’s untimely death in 1997 remains unsolved and has led to many theories regarding the identities and motives of the murderers. Evans, however, claims that law enforcement has more information than they are letting on.

“We know he was murdered, but we believe that the LAPD knows who’s responsible," she said. "That’s what we believe.”

Biggie was killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles, just six months after the tragic death of rival rapper Tupac Shakur. Because of the similarities in the shootings and the involvement of Shakur and Big in the East Coast–West Coast hip-hop feud, reports began to surface that the killings were somehow linked. Evans believes otherwise.

“The only way you can look at it [Big's death] is tragic. Tragic and senseless,” she said. “But I don’t think that situation was the result of being in the music business. It’s a little deeper than that. I think all the things that came with it definitely added to the hype of things. The whole media element, and people being able to say what they think and not be accurate.”

In November 2014, Evans announced that she is working on a duets album featuring Biggie’s vocals titled The King And I. They previously collaborated on “One More Chance,” which was featured on Big’s 1994 album Ready to Die.
