Major Lazer, DJ Snake & MØ's hit single "Lean On" just entered rarified company. Arguably the song of the summer for 2015 just passed 1 billion views on YouTube. This is for the official music video, so factoring in the lyric video, which has another 65 million views, the track eclipsed that mark on YouTube a while ago.

This isn't the first landmark achieve "Lean On" has nabbed recently. It passed Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" as the most streamed song on Spotify in November, now with over 600 million streams. With another 131 million streams on SoundCloud, the track is getting close to the 2 billion mark in total streams across the litany of streaming platforms available to users.

Major Lazer and their team pushed "Lean On" heavily through streaming services and it clearly worked. The track topped the global Spotify charts for most of the spring and summer, only dropping down a few spots when a major pop song would arrive, but then it would climb back up to the top spot.

Major Lazer, DJ Snake and MØ join the exclusive club of 1 billion views on YouTube alongside other artists like Katy Perry, Psy, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Wiz Khalifa.
