The annual BET Awards are right around the corner and the network has officially announced the nominees for this year's ceremony.
HipHopDX reports that Jay Z and Beyoncé lead the pack with four nominations each.
Drake, Chris Brown, Pharrell Williams and August Alsina trail closely behind earning three nominations each.
A host for the event has not yet been announced, but the network plans to make the big unveil tonight (May 14) on 106 & Park.
Drake, Future, J. Cole, Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar have been nominated for "Best Male Hip Hop Artist" while Angel Haze, Charli Baltimore, Eve, Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj round out the list for "Best Female Hip Hop Artist."
"This year's nominees represent the best of the culture," Stephen Hill, BET's President of Music Programming and Specials said in a press release, reported by Billboard. "It's great to see our talented new artist's right alongside our more beloved ones with long careers. We appreciate our BET Awards nomination committee, over 300 strong, for their efforts and congratulate all the nominees."
