Kenny Rogers Knows When to Hold 'Em, Fold 'Em and Get 'Em Cut Off!

Kenny Rogers shared his skin cancer surgery with a picture captioned with "but you should see the other guy!" today on Instagram. The 75-year-old country legend was in good humor, but he wasn't all jokes. He shared a bit of wisdom about the most common form of cancer in the United States when he continued with, "Had a bit of skin cancer removed today — I recommend everyone go get checked, especially since May is National Skin Cancer Detection & Prevention Month. Don't worry though, I'm gonna look great in Knoxville this weekend!" Over 2 million people are diagnosed each year and the Skin Cancer Foundation shares that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime.

Rogers joins an impressive list of celebs that have been diagnosed with skin cancer:

• Anderson Cooper had a cancerous mole under his eye removed
• Former President Bill Clinton had basal cell skin cancer on his back
• Actress Elizabeth Taylor had basal cell carcinoma on her cheek and radiation therapy was used to treat it
• Actor Ewan McGregor had a concerous mole under his eye removed
• Hugh Jackman was diagnosed with skin cancer on his nose just last week
• Senator John McCain has had three melamonas removed - tow on his arm and one on his temple
• Former First Lady Laura Bush had squamous cell carcinoma on her leg
• Reality TV star Lisa Gastineau went under the knife twice for skin cancer - once for basal cell carcinoma inside her nose and once for melanoma on her thigh
• Actress Melanie Griffith had skin cancer on her face  
• Actress Michelle Monaghan had a cancerous mole on the back of her leg
• Regis Philbin had skin cancert removed from his hand and face
• Actor Ryan O'Neal had melanoma on his nose removed shortly after being diagnosed with prostrate cancer in 2012
