In 2012, Dover, Delaware landed on the music festival map with the Firefly Music Festival. 2014 will see nearly 100 bands participating in the 4-day event.

In 2015, Sussex County Delaware will jump in the festival ring with a new country music festival that is in the works. With August as a projected debut date, the 2-day music event will offer camping for the expected 15,000 guests.

The first choice for the festival location is Hollyville Farms, a 1,000-acre working farm that's about 10 miles east of Georgetown. The festival would use about 500 acres. A second option is 130 acres of land near the Harrington Raceway & Casino that is owned by Delaware State Fair, Inc.

Dewey Beach businessman and attorney Alex Pires is the man behind the new festival. He's teaming up with Coran Capshaw, one of the biggest managers/promoters in the industry. His company, Red Light Management, handles close to 200 artists including Kristian Bush (Sugarland), Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, and The Band Perry. Starr Hill Presents, Capshaw's partner and live music promotion group, is also onboard.

When asked by DelmarvaNow if any of Capshaw's country artists would play the festival, Pires smiled and said, "(Capshaw) wouldn't want his festival to fail."
