Craig Morgan's Surgery More Complex Than Originally Thought

When Craig Morgan hurt his shoulder a few weeks ago while grappling with some friends at their favorite gym, he had no idea just how bad the damage was. When he went into surgery on Wednesday for what was supposed to be a routine procedure, his orthopedic surgeon discovered that he wasn't dealing with a simple tendon injury; he was looking at fractures as well as torn tendons. After the hours long procedure, Craig came out of the OR with six screws holding together bone fractures, newly repaired tendons and a sling that he'll be in for the next several weeks.

Though recovery and physical therapy will keep him off of the stage for a while, he will be back, good as new, before too long. In the meantime, the singer has been forced to cancel concerts, his appearance on CBS' The Talk and his Grand Ole Opry show.
