After hearing about Flint, Michigan's drinking water lead contamination issue, pop diva Cher decided to lend a helping hand to the town's residents by teaming up with Icelandic Glacial in order to donate 181,440 bottles of water to the city.

The heaping amount of water bottles are slated for shipment on Monday with plans to make it to Flint by Wednesday, where they will be given out to those in desperate need of purified water. A large portion of donations will be distributed to low-income housing areas in the city with a concentration on food banks, firehouses and community centers.

"This is a tragedy of staggering proportion and shocking that it's happening in the middle of our country," the Moonstruck actress said in a statement as Entertainment Weekly notes. "I am so grateful that Icelandic Glacial has come on-board to help the city of Flint. I cannot wait for the water to get there to help these people who have been poisoned because the water they've been getting out of their taps has been polluted for so long."

Saturday brought a declaration made by President Barack Obama as he announced a federal emergency for the city of 100,000 people as its people haven't been able to use tap water for bathing, drinking or cooking. The city attempted to switch water supply sources from Lake Huron to the Flint River in 2014, only growing their lead levels in drinking water. Since the contamination, blame has been pointed in the direction of government officials for allegedly not acting fast enough upon contamination discovering and after hearing public complaints.

The "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" singer, known for her outspoken persona concerning politics and lately, Donald Trump, has been trailing the Flint issue from the get-go. The "Dark Lady" artist makes it known that she's a critic of Gov. Rick Snyder's involvement with the drinking water issue and that she's putting her head together with Flint's mayor Karen Weaver on how to combat the problem.

The singer was forced to pull out of her latest tour, Dressed to Kill, in 2014 due to serious health issues. New tour dates have yet to be announced.
