Sting and Peter Gabriel have been friends for three decades, and now the rock icons are bringing that friendship to the road once again. On Tuesday (Jan. 19), the duo announced a joint headlining North American tour for this summer, dubbed the Rock Paper Scissors Tour.

The joint tour will kick off on June 21 in Columbus, Ohio, and tackle 19 cities across the United States and Canada, including New York, Detriot, Quebec and Los Angeles, before wrapping up on July 24 in Edmonton, Alberta, according to Gabriel's website.

The month-long tour, Sting and Gabriel's third together (and first since the 1980s) will see the two playing together, separately and each other's material.

"The interesting thing for me is what happens to our songs when they are juxtaposed with each other's songs. What I do will change what he does and vice-versa. The songs we trade and the songs that we sing together will have an unexpected result, we hope," Sting said in a statement.

"For me it's partly what sounds good in that present incarnation balanced with what people want to hear. You want to try and get both sides and throw in something unfamiliar as well as the hits," Gabriel added.
