The road for renowned rock band Aerosmith has certainly been a rough one filled with vices (quite a few) and stories coming from all directions. Numerous books have been written and countless interviews have occurred based on their rocky history. But now Joe Perry is ready to set the record straight in a new memoir scheduled for October 2014.

The guitarist's book will follow drummer Joey Kramer's 2009 memoir, which shed some light on the group's story, Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top in addition to frontman Steven Tyler's 2011 Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?

Because of the subject matter involved in the two aforementioned autobiographies, fans of the band have been clamoring for a Joe Perry memoir for years, to which Perry states, "It took about a year longer than I thought it would. I've wanted to write one for a while. But Joey put his book out and I wanted to leave some room there and then Steven put his book out. I didn't want to make it seem like mine was an answer to his, so I waited a little longer."

Many have been curious as to what Perry's book will say about Tyler's recollection and opinions on the band's past. "It's definitely Steven's truth, no doubt about that." Perry says. "But I didn't agree with a lot of the things he said."

Perry claims that while Tyler worked very hard on Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?, his memoir is far more traditional. "It's an autobiography in the real classic sense. I just hope Steven accepts the things I say about how I felt and how I saw things happen. I don't put words in other people's mouths or talk about conversations I wasn't there for."

Much of the motivation behind Perry's memoir was to exhibit his view of the band throughout the years, more so the last twenty. "We all know about the 1970s and the VH1 Behind the Music bulls--t and getting the band back together, which itself is a small miracle. After that, it kind of drops off."

Aerosmith will end their current tour in September. Afterwards, Perry plans to launch his book tour.
