Earlier this month, producer Mike WiLL Made-It hinted at the release date for his forthcoming Ransom 2 mixtape. On Saturday (Jan. 23), he announced the project’s official drop date and revealed its cover art.

"Friday. #RANSOM2,” Mike WiLL tweeted, setting January 29 as the release date for his latest project.

In a series of Instagram posts, Mike WiLL previously unveiled that the project will drop sometime in January. He also asked who fans want to hear on the release and whether it should be put out as an album or mixtape.

Prior to sharing the release date, he shared a collaboration with Future named after civil rights activist Al Sharpton as well as a new track by Rae Sremmurd, titled "By Chance." Both tracks are expected to be featured on Ransom 2.

The first installment of Ransom, which dropped in December 2014, featured a slew of guest spots by artists like Juicy J, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Chief Keef, 2 Chainz, Gucci Mane, DeJ Loaf, Young Thug and Migos. Ransom also included contributions from up-and-coming artists like Key!, Yung Joey, Eearz and Bankroll Fresh.

Aside from his newly-announced project, fans have also been anticipating Mike WiLL Made-It's collaborative mixtape with Future. They first hinted at Ape Sh*t last April, sharing the possible mixtape cover on Twitter. Since then, details about the tape have been limited.

Mike WiLL has also been working on Rae Sremmurd's sophomore album, SremmLife 2. Back in December, Slim Jxmmi confirmed that the album will be released in February 2016. “It’s gonna be banger after banger after slapper,” he said.

The Mississippi rappers first revealed they were working on a new album back in June during an interview with the KMEL radio station at the BET Awards. The project was originally slated for a December release.

After a relatively quiet year in 2015, Mike WiLL is apparently ready to put out a slew of hits.
