The former Dr. Gregory House, actor Hugh Laurie, is continuing strong with his music career and grabbing some truly loyal fans along the way. How better to celebrate that success than with a shot, right? It appears Hugh agrees...
The Daily Mail recently reported that Laurie began the first night of his Copper Bottom Band tour in Canada by not only giving the Vancouver audience one hell of a show, but also bringing the place to its feet when he decided to celebrate with a quick shot during the performance. Naturally, the crowd loved it!
The actor turned musician took to the Canadian stage donning an old timey plaid suit and brought with him a seven-piece band that accompanied his jazz-like standards. Perhaps it was the shot that loosened him up, or the energy of those in attendance, but Laurie ditched the jacket halfway through, exposing his bright pink ruffled shirt.
Reports have stated it definitely was not Russian vodka that he was drinking onstage, considering his call for a boycott earlier this year based on Vladmir Putin's comment regarding homosexuals at the Winter Olympics.
Laurie tweeted: "I'd boycott Russian goods if I could think of a single thing they made besides the rest of the world depressed. Russian vodka is OK if you need to clean the oven. For drinking, it must henceforth be Polish."
After the show, Laurie's mood was obviously euphoric, considering his tweet: "What a fabulous night in Vancouver. Audience tore off their clothes and cavorted in the aisles (Allow for Canadian exchange rate)."
The tour will continue moving forward steadily, but for those who find themselves prefering Laurie's acting abilities, he'll be appearing in the upcoming film Tomorrowland, starring George Clooney and Britt Robertson. The film is scheduled to be released in May 2015.
