Shawn McDonald's "We Are Brave" Goes #1!

Congrats to Shawn McDonald on his very first #1 radio hit - "We Are Brave," from Brave. It's been ten years since he released his debut project on Sparrow, Simply Nothing, so it's been a long time coming!

Shawn talked about what having a song go to the top meant to him on his site, saying, "I'm so incredibly grateful that this song as well as the album have been received so well. I certainly didn't expect this and honestly, the news really hasn't sunk in yet! The reality is, I'm super excited that my music is getting out there. I've been at this for so long and even though I've hit walls throughout my career, I'm just trying to make music that's relevant to the listener and music that I believe in. A lot of work and prayer went into this record, and to see it connect with people is really awesome, overwhelming and well, pretty emotional."

The music video for "We Are Brave" came out earlier this month and it's tells the story of a street preacher, a human statue and a dancer - all stepping beyond their fears to be brave.

Shawn won't be touring that much this summer, but there are a couple of shows where fans will be able to hear the hit song live.
