Carly Rae Jepson made a smash in the music industry with her extraordinarily successful hit “Call Me Maybe,” and album, Kiss. Her follow-up album, EMOTION, didn’t do so well sales wise, but was still hailed by critics as being a phenomenal pop album. Being asked to play the role of Frenchy in Grease: Live! was a success for the singer, as well as being a part of Cinderella on Broadway. In Grease: Live! Jepson joins Vanessa Hudgens and Julianne Hough in the classic 50’s era film, and talks about her co-stars in a new interview.

Jepson said to Billboard, “I think hanging out after hours has really helped. Because you are here sometimes twelve hours a day, six days a week. It’s your life, so if you’re not enjoying yourself you’re kind of screwed. And luckily we are.”

She further said on the bonding that they all experienced, “Once we went to lunch and kind of talked about boys and shared what’s going on in our lives and family and Christmas, we came back and there’s a different kind of energy. Like you’re braiding each other’s hair, you’re touching each other, and you’re grabbing each others asses. It physicalizes the scenes in such a positive way, because we were just girlfriends."

As recently as last November, Jepson released the music video for “Your Type from EMOTION, that told a Cinderella story of a young singer fighting for attention in the music industry. The music video showed Jepson working a dead-end job, and she even has her headphones stolen as she sits on a park bench. She fixes her hair and make-up in a dirty bar and then has a moment onstage where she is finally recognized for her craft. EMOTION was unleashed into the industry in August, with it’s two singles “I Really Like You” and “Run Away With Me,” leading the album’s sales.
