Beyoncé's latest inspirational single "Formation" might have caused a lot of excitement with her fans, also known as the Beyhive, but not everyone was pleased with the message. After performing at Super Bowl 50 with Black Panther-inspired dancers, the singer was accused of "race-baiting" and generated backlash from several media outlets. In typical Saturday Night Live fashion, the sketch comedy show poked fun at people's reactions in a skit where white people went crazy over Beyoncé's embracing her black roots.

SNL is no stranger to tackling controversial issues surrounding politics, celebrities, and world news and turning them into hilarious parodies. When Beyoncé introduced the world to "Formation," a song celebrating unity in the black community, harsh critics attacked her underlying message.

Some didn't understand why she would sing and perform a "racially-charged' song on an iconic platform. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani even spoke out about her being "anti-police."

In a skit called "The Day Beyoncé Turned Black," white people around the world are filled with confusion and fear as Beyoncé proves she is unapologetically black. Traffic is literally stopped, people are running out of their houses, and some even resort to leaving the country after realizing the multi-Grammy Award winner is African-American.

"Maybe the song isn't for us," said cast member Bobby Moynihan, playing a frantic man at work. "But usually everything is," responded Cecily Strong, who begins to shake hysterically after hearing the song.

The punches didn't stop there. The video also shed light on prominent figures of the black community being erased of their black identity, due to their mainstream appeal and popularity with non-people of color. The video uses Scandal star Kerry Washington as an example.

Beyoncé's now iconic video showed images regarding the horrific aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the injustices that went along with it, support of the Black Lives Matter movement, adoration for kinky afros and wide noses, and so much more.

Saturday Night Live airs on Saturdays at 11:30 on NBC. The late night variety show will return with new episodes on March 5.
