Lady Gaga performed her highly anticipated tribute to the late, great music icon David Bowie at the 2016 Grammys on Monday, Feb. 15, which resulted in a standing ovation from the crowd attending the ceremony. Unfortunately for Gaga, one important viewer didn't seem to enjoy the performance. Filmmaker Duncan Jones, Bowie's son, took to Twitter to voice his distaste for the tribute, which was actually a popular opinion of many sharing thoughts on the social media website last night. Check out Jones' tweet as well as other negative reviews of the Lady Gaga's medley below.

As we previously reported, Gaga's tribute was a medley of classic Bowie songs, which earned her a standing ovation from the crowd and praise from a handful of blogs. The pop songstress sang bits and pieces of "Space Oddity," "Changes," "Ziggy Stardust," "Suffragette City," "Rebel, Rebel," "Fashion," "Fame," "Let's Dance," "Under Pressure" and "Heroes."

The performance was accompanied by Gaga's own Intel commercial. Intel is even credited alongside Gaga for the performance because, well, that's just how the music industry works these days. Aside from the performance, fans of Bowie that did not enjoy this tribute took issue with the addition of the commercial.

Check out some Twitter reactions to the performance right here:

While fans' thoughts are important, Bowie's son's opinion carries the most weight in this situation. The movie director didn't come right out and attack Gaga's performance, but the following tweet definitely "threw some shade" (if you will) at the Grammys tribute.

As Uproxx points out, Jones' tweet quotes the not-so-flattering definition of the word "gaga."
