Following the decision in her court case against Sony and producer Dr. Luke, Kesha has released her first public statement.

"All I ever wanted was to be able to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused," Kesha said on Facebook. "This case has never been without a renegotiation of my record contract - it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal. This is about being free from my abuser."

Kesha is trending online, with fans and celebrities like Lena Dunham, Taylor Swift, Lorde, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga and Mariska Hargitay using the #FreeKesha tag to support the singer, who has been fighting for release from contracts with Sony that require her to exclusively record with Dr. Luke, whom she claims sexually assaulted her, and his Kemosabe label.

Kesha expresses her appreciation for the #FreeKesha movement online in her statement on  Facebook and in a post on Instagram.

She continued with, “But at this point, this issue is bigger than just about me. I think about young girls today -- I don’t want my future daughter or your daughter or any person to be afraid that they will be punished if they speak out about being abused, especially if their abuser is in a position of power.”

Dr. Luke has also spoken out on the controversy since Kesha was denied the injunction. His attorney, Christine Lepara, said Kesha's rape allegations were “outright lies” and her client took a public flogging during the campaign. Lepara also disputed the claim that Kesha isn’t “free” to record other places.
