Adele recently started her Adele Live 2016 world tour in Belfast where she surprised her fans with special effects of rain pouring down on stage and a showcase of her childhood photos. But aside from that, Adele also helped a woman propose to her longtime boyfriend in front of the crowd.
34-year-old Hayley Consuegra revealed that the star's song "Someone Like You" saved her relationship with her boyfriend after she sent the song to him. She said that when she heard the song, it made her think of her 47-year-old beau, Neil Pringle.
"Adele was a big part of us getting back together. She has really written the words to our story," Consuegra said, according to ITV News.
So when Adele asked from the audience if a woman wants to make a Leap-Year proposal, Consuegra didn't hesitate to go up on the stage of the SSE Arena. However, she did reveal that she already proposed to 10-year boyfriend, Pringle earlier during the day and his answer was, "Maybe in a little while".
After spotting the man in the crowd, the British singer said to him, "You need to say a proper yes, bruv." The "Rolling in the Deep" singer then encouraged the 11,000 audiences to chant, "Come on Neil," and she started jumping up and down when Pringles gave the proper answer.
"We had been out for dinner earlier in the evening and we had a long chat about our future. I told him that I would love to get married. He said he definitely wanted to go down the line. It was a really lovely conversation. He told me that he knew we would be together for the rest of our lives," Consuegra said, according to Mail Online. "Obviously, I then had it all in my head, so when Adele asked if any women in the audience would want to propose to their boyfriend I held out my hand straight up, but I never thought in a million years I would get picked."
Consuegra also revealed that she was very nervous on stage, but gained confidence when Adele held her hand. After the proposal, the two hugged and kissed and she also tweeted to Adele, thanking her for the unforgettable evening.
According to Perez Hilton, Adele might even attend the couple's wedding after helping them with their engagement.
