Perhaps the perfect way to celebrate International Women's Day today (March 8, 2016), a new anti-slutshaming anthem from performer Anna Wise has dropped, with a great music video! "BitchSlut" is another great song in a long line of feminist approaches to the prejudices women face these days, and it's from a recent Grammy winner! You might recognize Wise's soulful singing voice from Kendrick Lamar's "These Walls," as well as "untitled 03" and "untitled 05" from last week's surprise album, untitled umastered. This new song, however, is all Wise, showing that she has the talent to take on her solo career.

Wise, formerly the frontwoman of the band Sonnymoon, premiered the new song with an interview with SPIN. She spoke about the lyrics and the subject matter, with a great message that is hopefully being shared today, and every other day.

"There is a theme and the theme is 'women.' Women are great," she told the magazine, according to Consequence of Sound. "We're f*cking great, and I want to talk about us. And talk about myself, because I'm a woman. I guess it's kind of selfish. 'Let's talk about me!'"

The music video for "BitchSlut" is quite simple, with Wise being the only one on camera. The lyrics are clearly the focus, but it's also great to watch the performer having some fun with this production.
