Prince fans may be anxiously awaiting a new release from the singer and in 2017, he plans to give them exactly what they want. But, it won't be new music that the artist is planning to release, it's a book, a tell-all memoire to be exact, tentatively titled The Beautiful Ones.

According to The Grio, the 57-year-old multi-talented musician has a lot to tell and plans to reveal it all in his new book that he describes as an "unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work."

The "When Doves Cry" singer announced that he will be working with publishers Spiegel & Grau, an imprint of Random House Publishing, founded by Celina Spiegel and Julie Grau, to release his first written work.

Chris Jackson, acquiring editor for the publishing company, released a statement to Entertainment Weekly expressing their excitement to work with the music icon.

"Prince is a towering figure in global culture and his music has been the soundtrack for untold numbers of people - including me - for more than a generation," expressed Jackson. "His creative genius has provided the musical landscape for our lives."

Random House also expressed their gratitude on Twitter releasing this tweet:

The "Purple Rain" legend is excited about the project himself, citing that this will be his first book and he plans to cover everything "from the beginning [of his] first memory .... all the way up to the Super Bowl."

That's a lot of ground to cover seeing how the music legend first debuted when he was 19 years old in 1978 and is still creating and releasing music today. He's sold over 40 million records, with more than 50 singles reaching chart topping success.

Prince explained how he wants the book to be done right and has recruited the help of his brother to keep him on the right track.

"My brother Dan is helping me with it," explained Prince. "He's a good critic and that's what I need. He's not a 'yes' man at all and he's really helping me get through this."
