The last time the public received a taste of a 'Weird Al' Yankovic album was in the form of 2011's Alpocalypse. Just this past weekend, however, the iconic parodist announced via Twitter the release of a new record set to drop on July 15.

The musician teased the album release through hints on the social media platform, calling what was coming to be a "big important announcement." He finally tweeted out a photograph of himself in a Russian military uniform, or something resembling that, over the date July 15.

Fans of the musician undoubtedly had an idea that a new album would be coming soon, considering the recent video that emerged which showed Yankovic approaching recording artist Iggy Azalea and kindly asking if he can parody one of her tunes. Another piece of evidence dropped that lent itself to a new album was a clue from comedian/actor Patton Oswalt. The comic tweeted, "Just listened to @alyankovic's upcoming album & I am in awe. He satirizes a band I've worshipped since the 90s & it...is...beautiful."

The release of the unnamed album will be Yankovic's 15th album – the 15th on the 15th – and will also mark the conclusion of his current record contract. What the artist will do afterwards remains uncertain, claiming back in June 2013 through a blog post that he's "weighing his options" but has absolutely no plans to retire.

Should Yankovic decide to take a little time off, of course, there's always a chance to scribe yet another children's book. The musician published his second kid's book, My New Teacher and Me! just last year.
