Miley Cyrus may be both a current pop star and a former Disney star, but that doesn't make her the best at identifying either group. On her always-interesting Instagram, it seems as though the "Wrecking Ball" singer fell victim to a fake meme claiming that Meghan Trainor is really High School Musical actress Kaycee Stroh under a new name...
On Monday (March 21), Cyrus posted a meme that claimed that Trainor played "Martha" in the popular Disney movie series. "Whaaaaat?!?! How'd I not know this!" Cyrus captioned the photo, which placed the actually pretty similar looking Stroh and Trainor side by side.
Of course, that role was actually filled by actress Kaycee Stroh.
Cyrus, who appeared with Stroh in both High School Musical 2 and Hannah Montana: The Movie, was quickly corrected by Stroh herself and fans on Instagram. Luckily, she took the case of mistaken identity in stride.

But, instead of deleting the erroneous post, Cyrus edited the caption to correct her mistake. Unsurprisingly, she blamed the power of pop star pseudonyms, a dank meme and even danker weed.
"(Wtf is life and memes this isn't even true and my heart is slightly broken!!!!!) I smoke to much weed. I was IN high school musical ..... I guess I thought Kaycee Stroh decided to change her name to Meghan Trainer ..... #ichangedminetomiley #psladygagaaintherlegalname #imastoner #stillloveyoukaycee #uweresweetasf*cktobabymc," she wrote.
In addition to being two totally different people, Trainor would also have been way too young to star in HSM. She was only 12 years old when the first movie was released in January 2006.
