The hot release tomorrow might not be from a musician you're familiar with, but it may be from a software magnate you're very familiar with.

Paul Allen, billionaire and cofounder of Microsoft, created Paul Allen and The Underthinkers by teaming with some of his more established musical friends. "Everywhere at Once" will feature contributions from The Eagles' Joe Walsh, The Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, Ivan Neville of The Neville Brothers, and Derek Truck. This isn't a vanity project...Allen is no slouch at the guitar himself.

Allen has long touted his love for the instrument, and his passion is evident in the first single from the album. "Six Strings From Hell" features a thumping blues riff and modest shredding. Joe Walsh's vocals detail their shared enjoyment for jamming, if it wasn't obvious from the title. You can listen to the new track by following the link to Rolling Stone's website.

"I've rarely gone a week without picking up a guitar," Allen wrote in his memoir. "It's more than a hobby; it gives me balance and keeps me in the moment, which can be a challenge with all the projects I'm pursuing at any one time... I take music with me wherever I go."

This isn't just a vanity project for the software magnate; like Microsoft partner Bill Gates, Allen puts much of his money to charity efforts. All profits from "Everywhere At Once" will go to the education department at the Experience Music Project Museum in Seattle, itself a community project endowed mainly by Allen.

Guitar is only one of the things Allen can spend his billions on. His other passion, sports, led him to buy the Portland Trailblazers and Seattle Seahawks.
