Happy almost Friday everyone, though Thursday is essentially the new Friday. After Snoop Dogg's collaborations with Jimmy Kimmel to animate short clips of Planet Earth with a special twist titled Plizzanet Earth became so popular and went viral several different times, the rapper heeded the call of many to make this a regular thing.
The momentum really picked up after his Otter vs Crocs video was shared on Facebook by Pigeons and Planes and subsequently went viral 10 months after it was originally released. This resulted in a change.org petition where over 65,000 people signed to make Snoop Dogg narrate full episodes of Planet Earth.
The new series is hosted on Snoop's weed-themed YouTube Channel Merry Jane. The new episode features a battle between a squirrel and a snake. Snoop, like most viewers, would presume that the snake has an easy go of it against the squirrel, but in fact this is quite the even match. Much like the otters against the Alligator, this squirrel does not back down against a fearsome reptile.
They do need to iron out a few kinks with the green screen so Snoop's glasses don't disappear so much. Like most of the commenters say, the laugh track has to go.
It is not clear how many more of these will be released and with what frequency, but expect these to be quite popular. At only 1 minute and 44 seconds this is a little too short, but it is worth the watch.
